Do you have a marine, commercial, or industrial ECM (electronic control module) that you know is broken? We might be able to salvage it!
Do you have a marine, commercial, or industrial ECM that you fear might be broken, but not sure? We can test and verify that it is either working or in need of repair.
EXAMPLE OF ECM FAILURE – MEFI 3
Here is an example of wave foam testing by us on a MEFI 3 ECM to show that we will work on a variety of different ECM units, including Mercury MerCruiser and Volvo Penta. If you are doing an engine rebuild, engine upgrades, or maybe just trying to find your engine running issues, ECM testing is one way to help diagnose your issues.
Also, if you are doing recalibration to your ECM, it is very wise to have your ECM tested before recalibration. You must have a good working platform at the onset of your project BEFORE you think about using your 10 to 30 year old ECM unit, especially on newly built engines or upgrades.
Why would anyone want to risk having a faulty ECM jeopardize their investment, especially when the electronic ECM is old? ECMs are a very specific electrical processing device receiving inputs and controlling outputs.
Just like anything else electronic, ECMs will fail in due time. Please see the boat ecm repair gallery below.
— The first picture is the wave form patterns of a bad ECM.
— The second picture is that same ECM fixed by Boats Unlimited. The wave form patterns now show steady normal patterns.
— The third pic is the internals of this same MEFI 3 ECM with some marked components and the red dots that are common failure points. We see these failures on a daily basis.
This is a highly specialized electronic repair service that you won’t find many other places.
